EDS Lite: A Virtual Disk Encryption Software for Android
EDS Lite is a free and open-source virtual disk encryption software for Android developed by Nemesis. It allows users to store their files in an encrypted container, supporting VeraCrypt(R), TrueCrypt(R), LUKS, EncFs container types. With the ability to choose among different secure ciphers, EDS Lite can encrypt and decrypt any kind of file. All the standard file operations are supported, and users can quickly open a folder or file inside a container from the home screen using the shortcut widget.
EDS Lite is compatible with Android 9.0 and requires two permissions: "Modify or delete the contents of your SD card" and "Prevent phone from sleeping." The former permission is required to work with a file or container located in the shared storage of the device, while the latter is used to prevent the device from sleeping when a file operation is active. The source code for EDS Lite is available on GitHub, and users can send their error reports, comments, and suggestions to For more information, visit their website or read the FAQ.
